The population of
Pendleton in 1990 was 15,142 people.
Currently it is approximately 17,000.
Umatilla County had a population change from
59,249 to 70,850 between 1990 and 2000. By
2020, the county’s population is forecast to
be 85,050. With the new business growth in
the immediate area, the population trend
should realize a continued increase over the
next few years.
Smaller surrounding communities add an
additional 4,000 people. The total average
traffic of the three major highways that
intersect in Pendleton add over 20,000
visitors daily.
